It's been a while...

It's been a while since I actually posted a blog. I kind of went through some troubled times over the past few months. Things seem to be getting back to a somewhat normal routine. I've been on two vacations this year - one beach one mountain. I must say that I still prefer the mountains over the beach! Can't help it - I'm a nature lover and there seems to be more nature in the mountains.

This leads me to my latest rant... The so called 'Crisis' in the Gulf. What a crock of shit! I was in Fort Walton Beach for 7 days and did not see one ounce of oil on the beach. What I did see was a tragic hit to the local economy. This so called crisis that was created by the mainstream media and the White House took it's toll on the gulf coast. Businesses were closed and there just didn't seem to be the buzz of vacationers that are usually at the beach the week before school starts! What a shame we have let the media and the worst administration in our nation's history, dictate what our lives will be like. We should all be ashamed for being lazy, complacent and just plain worthless!

America - please wake up and start making better choices for you life! Obama and the Government will not save you - they will only destroy what little freedom we have left!!

Federal Financial Aid

I got really mad the other day about this. I was watching something on TV - can't remember now - but it was 'live' (meaning I had no DVR power) and couldn't fast forward the commercials. So, I'm watching this commerical and it's this hispanic guy telling his sob story about growing up having to watch his classmates drive to school in new cars, wearing designer clothes while he had to ride his bike to school and wear his brother's second hand clothes , blah blah blah. But, he didn't care that made him who he was and gave him more determination to 'make it'. His parents couldn't afford to send him to college but with the help of FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID . . .

Well, that's about all of that that I could take. I went outside for a smoke and I had this epiphany . . .

My kid is going to college and amassing student loans every year because I can’t afford to just write a check for her college education but because I work and make a decent living she doesn’t qualify for FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID.

I mean really, I can’t afford to send my kid to college and YET, I am paying for someone else’s kid to go to college! Where’s the ‘Social Justice’ in that? Shouldn’t tax payer’s children have first dibs on FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID? That is funded with my money. Money that I worked for and was forced to give them. I want to see what the hell they do with it. I want to see a study of how many people who get FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID actually graduate and go on to be productive members of society. How many are now paying for somebody else’s kid to go to college?!?

It’s waaaay past time for Congress to be reminded that any money they have to fund anything is because we all work to give it to them!

Baucus Bill

I cannot not believe this BS passed. I am so pissed that this Congress keeps insisting on ramming this crap down our throats. Who is speaking for the working class American?!? This bill is projected to raise health insurance premiums for a family of four to $4,000 per year!!! I don't know about any of you but that's a 67% increase to me! What's even more un-freaking-believable is that the penalties and taxes on this monstrosity will begin immediately but the actual 'benefits' won't begin until 2013! That's right kids - we will all start paying additional taxes on our policies - the so called 'Cadillac Tax' - if our employer provides us with more insurance benefits that the government thinks we should have they will be taxed up to 40% and we all know what happens then. WE get the shaft in the form of lower wages, less benefits or worse fewer jobs!

This is unfair, un-constitutional and just plain wrong! I will be the first in line to file a lawsuit if this crap passes. I will not allow this government to tell me where, when and what kind of health insurance I can have. I am sick and tired of people working the system and sitting on their fat asses waiting for everyone else to take care of them. Wake up America – we are the government and it’s about time we started holding the people we elected accountable.

The main stream media has failed us. I did not see one story about this other than on Fox. Even if it was only 50,000 people (which is what others are now estimating) every news organization should have had someone reporting. Not to mention, where the hell is the coverage on th ACORN scandal? Why isn't there a full on investigation and audit of that organization. How may other illegal businesses have they helped with my tax dollars?

I have to agree with Glenn Beck - the paradigm is shifting and we are taking back this county. I pray that it is peaceful and swift.
